Pedestrian hit by car on West 20th Street: Car flees scene

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit an run accident that took place on 20th Street about a half-mile west of Joplin around 10:20 Thursday night.

The patrol accident report says 36-year-old Kevin L. Ryan of Eucha, Oklahoma was hit by an unknown eastbound vehicle.

Ryan suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

The Patrol says Ryan was unable to describe what type of car hit him or the age or sex of the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities as soon as possible.
