St. Louis’s Lindenwood University plans has reportedly laid off faculty and staff and plans to cut positions as a result of concerns about enrollment.

Twelve staff members two teachers were reportedly laid off.

Media reports say university officials have cited concerns over nationwide delays in the process for completing Federal Student Aid (FAFA) that may affect colleges and universities for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Last year, financial considerations led Lindenwood to cut nine NCAA sports teams including its popular women’s gymnastics team as well as cycling. The school’s Belleville campus was closed in 2020.

Lindenwood opened its doors in 1832.
