Wentworth man charged after shooting Amazon delivery driver

A man from southwest Missouri is facing several charges after he allegedly shot an Amazon delivery driver Wednesday afternoon north of Pierce City.

Prosecutors say 64-year-old Thomas Coy, of Wentworth, admitted to shooting the woman in the head with a pellet gun as she pulled up to the driveway of his home on Lawrence County Road 2152.

Deputies say her delivery van then went into a field and crashed into a fence.

Amazon video cameras show Coy going to the vehicle and taking the woman from the driver’s seat and laying her in the ditch roadside.

Family and friends say the woman was on life support with “little chance of survival” but her condition is unknown this afternoon.

Coy has a long criminal history and is being held without bond.
