Man arrested after attempted break-in, police pursuit in Galena

A man is in custody in southeast Kansas after an alleged attempted break in and subsequent police pursuit Sunday evening.

Galena Police say 32-year-old Dacoda Johnathan Lee Johnson tried breaking into a residence. The homeowner called police and told them they were following Johnson.

Galena Officers located his vehicle and attempted to stop it at 7th and Short Street but Johnson fled.

A pursuit was initiated and the suspect vehicle crashed into a field at 90th and Plum Road.

Johnson then fled on foot and was arrested shortly after.

He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for medical clearance.

Johnson is facing several charges including felony stealing and fleeing.
