Remembering fallen JPD officers on three-year anniversary

Remembering Ben Cooper and Jake Reed.

As of Saturday, March 8th, it has been three years since the two Joplin Police Officers were shot in the line of duty during an altercation with a suspect.

The two will never be forgotten for making the ultimate sacrifice.

We also remember the heroic actions of Officer Rick Hershey, Captain William Davis and the other JPD officers who stopped a suspect’s rampage from continuing that day.

A special tribute will be paid to officers Cooper and Reed along with Tim Nielson, Jeff Taylor and K9 Cezar from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. today at the FOP Lodge at 2012 W. 2nd in Joplin.
