Repeat offender arrested for disturbance in Parsons

The Parsons, Kansas Police Department has issued the following news release:

“On Sunday, May 11, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers with the Parsons Police
Department responded to a disturbance call in the 1000 block of South 16th Street involving a verbal
and physical altercation between two family members.

“Upon arrival, Officer Anthony Allison contacted the victim, 62-year-old male, who reported that
he had been involved in an argument with the suspect, 37-year-old Bryant McQuarie.

“During the altercation, Bryant began striking the victim’s truck, which was parked near the alley, and proceeded to throw two bricks and a banana at the victim before aggressively approaching him.

“While still on the phone with emergency dispatchers, the victim indicated that Bryant had left
the scene on foot. Officers quickly began a search of the area, and Sergeant Waylon Kepley located
Bryant in the 800 block of South 14th Street. After a brief interaction in which Bryant refused to provide
a statement, he was detained due to the ongoing investigation.

“Officers also spoke with a neighbor, who witnessed the incident. The neighbor confirmed that
she saw Bryant damaging the vehicle and throwing objects at the victim. The neighbor expressed
concern for their own safety but agreed to provide a written statement to help the investigation.

“Based on the statements and corroborating witness accounts, Bryant McQuarie was taken into
custody without further incident and transported to the Parsons Police Department. Charges for
Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property are pending review by the Labette County
Attorney’s Office.

“‘This is another example of a repeat offender disrupting public peace and threatening the safety
of others,” said Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks. “We are committed to addressing these recurring
issues in our neighborhoods and holding repeat offenders accountable. No one should have to live in
fear of violence, especially within their own home.’

“This continues to be an on-going investigation, and citizens are encouraged to ‘See It, Hear It,
Report It.’ All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any
