Missouri Congressman Mark Alford introduces House version of Hawley’s Pelosi Act

Missouri Congressman Mark Alford has introduced a House version of Senator Josh Hawley’s Pelosi Act to stop legislators and their spouses from buying or trading individual stocks.
Alford told Newstalk KZRG:
“You can see that members are outperforming the S & P 500. And some of these, while we’re not supposed to use insider information to make these trades, it’s very hard to look at these trades and how they coincide with big deals that we have passed in Congress, defense deals or other things that would cause the price of a stock to increase in a certain industry or certain company and not say, wow, that really looks very suspicious.”
Alford went on to say: “And so this bill would prevent any, any member or their spouse from trading individual stocks. Now, you could still do index funds, you could still do mutual funds. That’s where I have all my money.”
