Pittsburg man arrested, accused of breaking into Girard restaurant

A man from Pittsburg, Kansas, was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly broke into a restaurant in Girard.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Landon Collins busted a window out at the Hiway Inn Restaurant and helped himself to some eggs and some hashbrowns.
Collins was booked into jail on a $7,500 bond with one felony charge and two misdemeanor counts.
Records show this is his 6th arrest in the last 15 months in Crawford County
The Sheriff’s Office said this in response to comments about their Facebook post:
“And I’ll make something clear… There are dozens of businesses both in Girard and Crawford County that I KNOW wouldn’t turn someone away if they came and asked for food when they’re hungry, whether they can afford it or not. This, is not that. This is a small business owner’s livelihood. Things are tight enough, and now they have not just a window to fix, but other things that were damaged in the course of this incident as well.”
