Bicycle rider killed in early morning accident in Taney County

A bicycle rider is dead following a crash on U.S. 65 at the 14.8 mile marker in Taney County about 4:30 this morning.

The Missouri State Highway patrol says a northbound 2013 Chrysler 200, driven by a 74-year-old woman from Branson, struck the bicyclist in the rear.

The bike rider, a 68-year-old man from Kansas City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the car was not injured.
