AAA predicts record Memorial Day travel

Expect plenty of company on Missouri roads this holiday weekend. 

AAA Missouri spokesman Nick Chabarria says the numbers are up again this year.

“950,000 Missourians will travel for the Memorial Day holiday period, similar to the national trends. That’s a 3% increase from where we were last year and 4% from where we were in 2019.”

The average price for a gallon of gas in Missouri is $2.81, that’s down about 40-cents from last year. 

Drivers should get an early start to avoid traffic, especially in larger cities.
