“Makers Markets at Spiva are a great time for member artists to sell their wares and connect with Joplin’s art community. They offer a unique opportunity for the public to discover their new favorite local artists and support them directly, says Kearstin Mattox, Director of Engagement at Spiva Center for the Arts. “We hope to continue to host Makers Markers in celebration of our multitalented members, as a way for them to showcase their work seasonally.”
Mattox adds, “Spiva Memberships for Working Artists are $40 for the whole year. We offer several opportunities for members to get their work out to the public, including our annual Membership Show and even selling in the Gift Shop. If you’re a local artist or art patron and have been on the fence about joining, now is a great time to become a Spiva Member. We’ve got a ton of member-only events coming up, you won’t want to miss out!”
