Vision Carthage to host “Dumpster Day” on Sunday, June 8th

Carthage, MO – Vision Carthage will host a “Dumpster Day” to benefit Carthage residents seeking to dispose of unsightly or unwanted junk!
The free community cleanup event will allow anyone with a Carthage address to dispose of a variety of items, including tires and scrap metal.
Secure paper shredding will also be provided through a partnership with Innovative Industries.
Items not accepted include lawn clippings, hot water tanks, paint, and chemicals.
Jackson Tire & Auto of Carthage will provide a tire recycling service on site.
The event will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 in the Carthage Memorial Hall parking lot located at 407 S. Garrison Ave. in
Carthage.
This project is the result of a collaboration with multiple city departments including Police, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation.
The aim is to encourage the community to recycle and dispose of items that harm the environment and take away from Carthage’s natural beauty.
“We know that not everyone has a way to haul items to Dumpster Day, but we hope this will encourage neighbors to help neighbors” stated Sally Stuart, Co Director of Vision Carthage.
“The demand for this event is strong and we look forward to hosting it again and growing it in the future as we continue to clean up Carthage.”
Vision Carthage is seeking volunteers for this event. Tasks will include directing traffic, manning a refreshment area, and verifying Carthage addresses.
