Carterville Special Election!

Carterville saw a recent first. A city council race ended in a dead tie. City council incumbent Judy Martin and challenger Terri Arterburn both received exactly 31 votes.

Due to the tied vote count in Ward 2, both candidates agreed to host a special election to determine the winner. The city passed a resolution supporting this decision and has scheduled the special election to be held at the Carterville Methodist Church on Tuesday, April the 25^th from 6am to 7pm.

Any voter in Ward 2 who was already registered to vote in the April 4th election is eligible to vote in this special election.
