Shooting in Carthage; Two brothers in custody at Jasper County Jail

Two brothers from Carthage are in custody following a shooting in the 400 block of South Orner Street in that city a little after 9:30 Tuesday night.

The victim, 27-year-old Austin Hodge was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries frrom 21 gunshot wounds.

New court documents say 23-year-old Dylan Hershey and 19-year-old Hunter Hershey are facing charges of 1st Degree Assault, Unlawful Use of Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action.

They’re being held in the Jasper County Jail.
