Joplin man arrested after motorcycle chase Thursday night

A man from Joplin is facing several charges after a motorcycle pursuit Thursday night.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a pursuit that was entering their jurisdiction from Joplin, who were chasing a motorcycle that was fleeing from them for traffic violations.
The pursuit of 42-year-old James Colley was also being monitored by a helicopter from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle entered Cherokee County and continued to flee and failed to negotiate a curve at SE 80th and Star Rd.
Colley fled on foot and was taken into custody by the deputy after a short foot pursuit.
He was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he was booked for Theft, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing or Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer, and multiple traffic charges.
