Annual Joplin audit results tonight at public council meeting

At tonight’s Joplin City Council meeting, they will get a report on the annual city audit.  

Mayor Keenan Cortez told Newstalk KZRG:

“This is the annual audit that we complete every year. We’re required to do that. It gets reported up to all the people that need to see it. And this is our opportunity this evening to present that to the public so everybody can see what happened.

Cortez went on to say:

“It’s done annually and we need to make a point of distinguishing this from the state audit that the city had not too long ago. We’re still pending those results. We’re hoping to get those very soon. This is not that. There was a petition and the state auditors came in and basically dug up every rock down at City Hall. This is not that.”
