NEO Rodeo team finishes strong, sends four to College National Finals Rodeo

MIAMI, Okla. – The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Rodeo Team capped off an impressive 2024-25 season with multiple accolades and national qualifications.
Four standout athletes will represent NEO at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyoming: Tanner Scheevel, Treyden Larmon, Gus Albertson, and Blake Tatham.
Leading the charge is Tanner Scheevel, who was crowned the 2024-25 Central Plains Region Men’s All-Around Champion. Scheevel also earned Reserve Champion titles in both tie-down roping and steer wrestling and will compete in both events at CNFR.
Treyden Larmon secured the title of Central Plains Region Team Roping Header Champion, and will rope alongside his partner Gus Albertson, who finished as the Reserve Champion Team Roping Heeler. Blake Tatham rounds out the CNFR qualifiers, ending the season as the #3 tie-down roper in the region.

- Colbi Freeman & Jackie White – Tied for #9 in Breakaway Roping
- Lakin Cunningham – #5 in Goat Tying
- Lauren Weller – #8 in Goat Tying
The NEO Men’s Rodeo Team placed 3rd overall in the region and was named the Reserve Champion Junior College Team, while the Women’s Team earned the title of Central Plains Region Champion Junior College Team.
“It was another outstanding year for the NEO Rodeo Team! To be sending another four individuals to the CNFR is an awesome way to finish this year’s season,” said NEO Rodeo Coach Kolby Ungeheuer. “I’m very proud of both the Men’s and Women’s teams for all they were able to accomplish. I’m very excited to see our Men’s team compete on a national level.”
